Dear Second Grade Parents,

This will be a fun week with Valentine celebration on Tuesday and half day on Friday.

SAVE THE DATE:  Our school fair is on February 22nd.

Take A LOOK at our Week:

Homework:  Please work on poster, fluency, reading log, study for spelling test on Friday, and NO IXL.  Poster is due on Friday.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Reading: We will work on learning new facts about our topic.  Remember what you learned and share with a friend.

Writing: We continue working on lab reports and improving our writing by using information learned from a book or mini lecture.

Cursive writing: Your child has learned  all the letters in lowercase cursive and almost all the letter in upper case. Please allow practice time at home.

Spelling: Study for spelling test!

Grammar: Adjectives(Review)/Homophones(Review) /Antonyms (New)

RELIGION: Beginning Unit 4: Parts of the Mass

MATH: We will have our Math test on Tuesday morning. We started Unit 6 last week.  We will be working on parts-sum- algorithm, subtraction and word problems.  I may be sending extra work home next week via their homework folder if I feel they need extra practice in adding and subtracting.

Science: We will continue with our science project activity…Question, hypothesis, experiment/trials, and results/conclusion

Social Studies:  The job of a president (continued)…

Events this Week:

Tuesday: Free dress

Thursday: P.E./Library

Friday: Dismissal 12:00

No School on Monday, February 20th (President’s Day)
