Dear Second Grade Parents,

I received the great news that our Second Graders did a great job on Friday!  Today, the children shared their “Saint Day”  experience.  We have a Free Dress Day on Wednesday.   Our donation of $1.00 or more will go to Adopt a Family.  Friday will be an early dismissal at 12:00.

The last student we were able to learn about in “All  About Me” was Natalie. JThis week we will celebrate JOMARI!

ACADEMICS THIS WEEK…

Homework:  This week homework was sent home to everyone.  Have your child practice their spelling on spellingcity.com

Religion:                Jesus shows us how to love others;  Quiz on Thursday

Language Arts:

Reading: We will begin Theme 3 (Around Town: Neighborhood and Community) with the story “Chinatown”.

Writing: Grammar; naming words, common and proper nouns/editing/beginning a rough draft

Spelling & Phonics: Unit 10: words with endings:  nd, mp, nt, nk, ng

MATH: Place value, hundreds chart, before and after, even/odd

SOCIAL STUDIES:  Landforms

SCIENCE: Frog Life Cycle (traits)/Pretest
