Hello-

Homework:

Students have less homework this week so they can have some time to prepare their saint reports. I sent home all the information yesterday.

READING LOG

No Fluency

IXL: A.7: Hundred Chart

Spelling : The students received their new sorts yesterday.  We will not be testing them on their spelling words until next week on Thursday so they will have the same sort for two weeks. We have many schedule adjustments that will not allow plenty of time to master their sort.

A Look into our Week:

English Language Arts:

Reading: We will work on Back up and Reread and Retelling as you Read.

Grammar Skills: Capitalization, punctuation (period and question mark), What is a noun?

Math: Fact Families, Fast Facts, Double Facts, Word Problems.  We will be taking our math test on Thursday.  Your child took home a math review for Unit 2 last week.  Please take the time to review any areas that need a little extra attention.  This will help them with their math test on Thursday.

Religion: Vocabulary: Confirmation, faith, original sin, sacrament, godparents, paschal candle, bishop and priest

Science: We will complete our unit on motion.

Social Studies: Land forms

Reminders:

I am looking for Primary Center volunteers.  It will be on October 28th from 10:00-12:00.  Please send me an email if you can attend.

UNIFORMS/LUNCH

Our weather seems to be drastic these days.  The coming days brings some warmth so remember to send students with plenty of water to drink especially on P.E. days.  Also, the early cold mornings had us all bundled up so I saw lots of friends with jackets and sweaters.  Please remember to have your child’s name written on their sweater and jacket.  I have two students that are missing their jackets.  Please check at home to see if your child accidentally took it home.

Please check out our handbook regarding appropriate shoes, socks, and accessories at SHS.  There shoes should be solid colors.

Remind your child NOT to share their snacks with other children due to allergies.  I still find my students giving each other snacks but not realizing that parents may have their child on special diets due to allergies.  We encourage all students NOT to throw away their food that is not eaten. This way you can see what your child is eating at school.

I appreciate you taking the time to speak to your child about these reminders regarding uniform and sharing their snacks.

Thursday: Return library books
