Fluency

HERE’S A QUICK LOOK AT OUR WEEK:

RELIGION: We will be taking our chapter 2 quiz on Friday. We will be working on the meaning of union, crucifix, and disciple.

Reading: We continue working on our reading strategies.  We have learned the following reading skills the last few weeks. Your child should be able to explain or model what each skill means.

  • Decide HOW to read
  • Give the book a sneak peek (new book)
  • Read More and More
  • Read in Bigger Scoops
  • STOP, THINK, RETELL

We are working on not dropping beginning or endings while reading such as undo or starving.

Writing/Grammar: Capitalization especially when beginning a sentence, punctuation, identifying complete sentences, and identifying nouns.  We will begin learning about verbs (action words).

MATH: We started working on identifying operations in word problems. We have learned how to skip count on a calculator. We have been working on building fluency on our addition facts. We got started on Chapter 2 last week. Practice the doubles (2+2, 8+8)

Science:  Positional words (under, over, next to)

Social Studies:  Maps

We will have our first Primary Center next Friday.  Please send me an email if you are interested in volunteering.  Also, I am in need of pillow washers. Please let me know if you are available this weekend to wash our pillows.

Blessings,

Mrs. Vazquez
