Dear Second Grade Families,
This week will be parent-teacher conferences. Dismissal for students on December 6th-8th will be at 11:30 a.m. Students will receive their “Progress Reports” on Tuesday. I look forward to our conference this week.

RELIGION: We will continue discussing Advent. We have our Advent Assembly on Wednesday before giving our teddy bears to Adopt-a-Family. 🙂
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Reading: Nonficiton reading continues in our class. We are learning to pay attention to details as we read text and look at maps and diagrams.
Writing: We begin our new genre, opinion writing. I asked the students to bring a book that has thier favorite character tomorrow for writing. They will be writing a letter about their character to a friend. 🙂
MATH: We will practice using a change and comparison diagram to solve subtraction problems. Practice addition and subtraction to 20 at home.
This week we have lots of music practice to prepare for our fabulous Christmas Program. I have asked some parents to send in some Saint costumes to be used in our Christmas program. I appreciate the help.
Reminders
Our food drive has started this week. Please fill a bag of nonperishable foods to donate. Students are receiving a sparkler to add to our bucket if they donate to St. Vincente de Paul.
Tuesday: P.E.
Wenesday: Advent Assembly, Teddy Bear Day, and library books are due! This is not our regular library day, so please remind your child to bring in their books.
