Dear Second Grade Parents,
Our Saints Day was FABULOUS!!!!! All the children did such a wonderful job memorizing their reports. Way to Go, Second Grade!!!!!! I hope you had a great four day weekend. We will have a busy three days in class this week.
ACADEMICS THIS WEEK…
Homework: READING LOG (ONLY 3 DAYS), No spelling words (review week), No IXL (short week)…Next week, we will begin our normal load.
Religion: All the children did a great job reciting their reports in class/church. We will focus on JESUS SHOWS US HOW TO LOVE GOD OUR FATHER. Vocabulary: Lord’s Day, Ten Commandments
Language Arts:
Reading: We will wrap up Exploring Parks with Ranger Dockett. We will take our reading comprehension test on Friday.
Each group is reading a book at their level. We work on any applying our strategy and comprehension focus (question/compare & contrast)
Writing: Grammar; naming words, common and proper nouns. We continue writing about small moment and adding our voice to our writing.
Spelling: Review week
MATH: Base Ten Blocks; Writing numebers in four forms: written, base ten blocks, standard and expanded form.
SCIENCE: Frog Life Cycle /learning about traits
Flat Mail NEWS: A few students have received mail. If your child takes home mail, please return it the following day so we can store them in a safe place.

Thursday: Assembly 11:00; Flag retirement
