Dear Second Grade Families,

We only have two weeks until our summer vacation.  We will continue working hard until the last days of school so the children will be prepared for Third Grade.

Field Trip To Do List:

• wear uniform and comfortable shoes that can get dirty
• apply sunblock
• bring a sack lunch
• bring a hat

RELIGION:   We continue our Family Life.

LANGUAGE ART

READING:  We will continue our reading groups through next week. Our focus will be evaluating, author’s point of view and character’s traits.

Our Read Alouds for the next two weeks will be:

The Mouse and The Motorcycle and books by Tomie DePaola

WRITING: Opinion writing

SPELLING: Unit 35 is our last unit for spelling, suffixes –ly and –ful.  We will take our test on Thursday morning.

MATH:  Next week I will send home their math workbooks on Wednesday.  I recommend you save them for summer review.  You can still use everyday math during the summer to review any concepts your child may have had difficulty understanding.

SCIENCE:   Sounds

RELIGION:   We will focus on Family Life…God’s Gift

Tuesday and Thursday:  P.E. (last week of P.E.)

Wednesday: Field Trip

Friday:  Jog-a-thon Free Dress, Family Mass,  Noon Dismissal &  Move up Day!
