Dear Parents,                                             June 6, 2011

The last week of school!  I can hardly believe the year is just about over.  I had a wonderful time with your children.  They are very special and I enjoyed every day of school.  I would also like to thank you for your continued support throughout the year.

This week we will spend a little time wrapping up loose ends.  We will continue to review our spelling words by playing sparkle and our sight words by playing the “word wall game”.  Our writing focus this week will be the friendly letter and we will write to our sixth grade buddies, thanking them for their friendship and help throughout the year.

We will continue telling time, counting money and measuring in math and will practice our basic facts in the computer lab.

Thank you so much for sending in items from all over the world for us to share.  We have mapped all the origins of these items on our world map and the children and I have enjoyed “traveling the world” by learning about the items.

In religion, we will spend some time learning about the Church today and how we are part of the Church.

Thursday is Spirit Day and a noon dismissal day.  We will spend some time playing with our sixth grade buddies before the assembly honoring our room parents and enjoying lunch provided by the PTC.  On Friday we will attend Mass and the awards presentation honoring the students.  We’ll come back to the classroom and should be ready to go by 10:00 or so.

It is All About…Ella and Jaden this week.  Congratulations! (And thank you for being so PATIENT)

Have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Manning
