On Friday the middle school participated in collaborative learning centers. The objective of the centers was examining the lives of Catholic saints. The grades intermixed into groups and rotated activities every 30 minutes. When they were in the computer lab with Mrs. Manning they researched the skeleton system and how bodies of saints do not decay or remain incorrupt. Mrs. Gaither was in the multipurpose room and the students created beautiful mosaics of different saints. The last station was the library with Mrs. Clemmensen where the students worked in groups on a “Who am I?” activity. Each group needed to research saint cards to answer the questions about ten different saints. At the end of the collaboration the students were treated to delicious “bone” cookies brought in by Mrs. Manning. Each grade was very excited about the centers and look forward to the next one in December, focusing on Advent.
