Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Here we are back from a blessed Easter Holiday – refreshed and ready to learn!

Our Christian faith and practice:  God sent Jesus to show us how to live and love. The wonders of new life – evident in the season of spring.

English Language Arts: phonics focus- final consonant and sound of ‘x’; building words with short vowels- /o/,/i/, and /a/; working on fluency with our phonics readers. This week we will practicing our poems everyday after lunch.  Practice spelling test – words from sight word list one. Reading comprehension will be noting details; strategy focus is questioning. As you read with your child use these skills to retell stories and promote comprehension.

Everyday Math: It’s all about skip counting! Counting by 2’s, learning about halves, using a calculator for adding by 2, and measuring time with tools (stop watch or timer). Count by 2’s to 20 and beyond at home for extra practice.

Science: Our natural resources- mainly our focus is on saving water and properties of water.

Social Studies: A unit on our National Symbols.

Look for Jog-n-thon information in the Family Envelope coming home on Tuesday.

**Our last Primary Centers is on April 24.

Enjoy your week!
