Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Today we will show our desire to care for our world by understanding the importance of Earth Day.  We will be praying for all the people in our world, and thankful for all the gifts we have.  A perfect time to review God’s love and goodness in Chapter 4; God’s World is Good from our religion text.

Congratulations go out to our 5 finalists for the Speech Contest. It was so difficult to choose,  all students worked hard and did great job working toward this competition.  Livia, Hope, Joshua, Sophia and Gianna will go to the judging on Tuesday.  We compete with first grade and only 3 students will be selected. We’ll keep our fingers crossed. Thursday @ 11:00 is the Speech Contest Winners Assembly.

Theme 8 in reading is underway with the sound of short vowel /o/. As we listen to stories this week, comprehension and response will be fantasy/realism. New initial consonant /x/. We are reviewing consonants /t/, /k/, and /n/. We are writing each day, using complete sentences and proper punctuation.

Math finds us with review work on counting money, place value, story problems with simple addition, and a chapter test.

Science and social studies lessons tie into Earth Day and a craft.

Have a great week!

Friday is a noon dismissal
