Dear Kindergarten Families,

Hope everyone had a blessed Easter Sunday with a restful and fun week. We’ll start off our school week ready to learn!

Keeping our fingers crossed for our kindergarten finalists in the Speech and Poetry Contest.  All students did an excellent job. I am so proud of everyone of them!  It was very difficult to choose the five friends to go on to judging. Congratulations Lucy, Roman, Connor, Alex and Olivia!!

Religion continues with the season of Easter. We celebrate new life in butterflies, in Jesus, and in us.  It’s almost May! That is Mary’s month, we will be praying Hail Mary and Glory Be to help learn the Rosary.

ELA- work with beginning and ending sounds, long and short vowels, sentence structure and punctuation. Words their Way -sorting pictures to match beginning sounds/blends. Writer’s and Reader’s Workshops are part of our daily work.

Math- finds us working with number formation, math stories, addition and subtraction symbols and equal sign,  using the number grid for adding/subtracting one as well as adding / subtracting with 10.

Science – butterflies and new life along with our daily garden work.

Social studies – continues with mapping and our American Symbols.

Please keep an eye out for my service hour calendar – I’ll send an email later this week. We did add the last Primary Centers on May 5. Remember the Jog-n-thon is on May 12. This is a service hour opportunity.

Friday is a full day of school.

Happy to be back – we have lots to do!

Blessings,

Mrs. Carol Brown
