Dear Families,

Welcome to 5th grade!  This is our first full week of school.  We will be getting use to our normal routines.  I look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday at 6:30 for Back to School Night.  Thursday is our day for P.E.  please make sure that your child is in full P.E. uniform.  Friday is a full day of school with a dismissal of 2:45.  Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  We will focus on Rectangular Arrays and review the use of multiplication number models to represent the arrays.

Religion:  We will focus on the different parts of the Bible and how to look up passages.

Grammar:  We are starting with unit 6.  We will review capitalizing proper nouns and proper adjectives.

Vocabulary:  Unit 1

Social Studies:  We will learn about the Native Americans in the North West.  We will have our first states test next Tuesday.

Science:  We will learn about the different parts of a cell.

ELA:  Unit 1:  Playing with Words.  We  will explore our different personal writing style.
