Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Welcome Back!  This is our first full week of school!  I look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday for Back to School Night at 6:30.  Friday, August 23 is the PTC Back to School potluck at 5:30.  I hope so see everyone there!

We will begin reading our first book, We are the Ship on Monday August 26th. Please make sure your child has this book in class by Monday.

Our P.E.  period this year in every Thursday.  Please make sure your child comes to school in full P.E. uniform on Thursday.

Below is an overview of our week:

Math: We will be review place value and number sense.

Social Studies: We will be focusing on the Native Americans of the Northwest.

Science: Chapter 1, Cells

Vocabulary: Unit 1

Religion: We are discussing the Liturgical Calendar.  Please feel free to join us for our school mass on Friday at 8:30.

English: We are focusing on the different kinds of sentences, using context clues, and complete Subjects and Predicates.
