Dear Kindergarten Parents,

What a wonderful turnout at our Back to School Night! Thank you all for coming. There are always many questions as we begin a new school year. Please do not hesitate to send me an email whenever you have a question.  More at home service hour items will be coming home this week. Just let me know via email if you are interested in earning service hours this way.

Our Academic week:

Religion focus learning how  God welcomes us into His world and more reflections with Creation and our book. Our SLE focus will continue with A.1 Learn about the church and to share with others.

ELA – reading stories aloud -noting who and what the story is about; letter recognition and sounds review A-E and starting this week F-I.  Learning to spell and write our first sight words,  I, like, we,  see. Going along with our writing is our printing, it is time for your children to use lower case letters in their name. Practice this at home, too!

Math – Using the tens frame and the letters our their name; counting by 1’s and 10’s; patterns with movement;  calendar and routine continue with our Everyday Math series.

Science- this week on Tuesday will be our first lab. We will be observing soil and planting seeds.

Social studies – looking at maps; making a map of our room

Thursday we checked out a library book, we will do this every Thursday – in order to check out a new book, last week’s must be returned by Wednesday.

This Friday is a noon dismissal
