Dear Families,

We completed our first full week of school!  Students are doing a wonderful job in 5th grade.  It was great to see so many families at Back-to- School Night.  If you were unable to make it or have any questions please feel free to contact me.  This Friday is a noon dismissal.  Below is an overview of our week.

Math: We will learning the divisibility rules, prime and composite numbers.  The IXL section this week  is  K.4 Divisibility Rules.

Vocabulary:  Unit 1.  We will have our unit 1 test on September 1st.

Grammar:  Our focus this week will be titles and commas in a series.

Social Studies:  We will have our first  States Test this Tuesday. The Southwest Native Americans is the focus this week.

Science:  We will learn how plant and animal cells make and use energy.

ELA:  We continue with unit 1, “Play on Words”.

Religion:  We will be learning about The Year in Our Church.
