Dear Kindergarten Parents and Families,

I am sure everyone enjoyed their time with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday! As we begin this first week December, the lighting of the Hope Candle reminds us to get ready for Jesus.

This week begins with two full days, Monday and Tuesday.  Dismissal is at 11:30 on W-TH-F to allow for parent conferences.  Report cards come home on Tuesday. Please sign/return the envelope, the report card is for your records.

Religion- Learning about Advent the special time before Christmas.  The Jesse Tree will take us through history and the coming of our Lord by making simple scripture related ornaments each day.  The tree begins with creation and stretches through the Old and New Testaments until we reach the wonderful story of the birth of Jesus.

ELA – comprehension- sequencing events, and making predictions as we listen to stories. Phonics- initial consonant Rr, print practice, sight word sentences and beginning and ending punctuation.

Math- working with probability concepts in unit 3 of Everyday Math. Vocabulary terms we will learn: possible, impossible, certain, might happen, maybe, likely, unlikely, and chance. We will start with 3 in a row games.

Science – five senses will be reviewed with a booklet.

Social Studies: learning how people celebrate Christmas around the world.

On December 31 Ahtziri will celebrate her birthday.

We are asking for support on Thursdays:

  • Thirsty Thursday – help the less fortunate with water or juice bottles. Purchasing script for this worthy cause is another way to help out.

Blessings,

Mrs. Carol Brown
