Mrs. Dwyer, our 8th grade homeroom teacher, is going to Rio de Janeiro!  Her husband has taken a two-year assignment offered by his employer beginning on November 1st making October 14th her last day at Sacred Heart School.  Her husband’s career has taken him all over the world and now it is her opportunity to go with him.   For the next two weeks we will adjust our existing staff to complete this transition so we can happily begin our school day on October 17th in our new configuration.  Mrs. Heidi Manning, our current 1st grade teacher, will assume the responsibilities of the 8th grade homeroom teacher.  A graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a BS in Accounting, a CA Teaching Credential, and a Master’s Degree in Education, Mrs. Manning has a long tradition at Sacred Heart School as a parent and staff & faculty member.  Miss Katherine Manning, our current resource teacher, will assume the responsibilities of the first grade teacher. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a BA in Communications & enrolled in the LMU program to receive her CA Teaching Credential and Master’s Degree in Education, Miss Manning has her own long tradition at Sacred Heart School as a graduate, a member of our staff, and now our faculty.  Miss Evans, our current half-day assistant and EDC Director, will assume the responsibilities of a full-day assistant.  A graduate of CSU Fresno with a BA in Early Childhood Education, Miss Evans has her own long tradition at Sacred Heart School as a graduate and member of our staff.  Michelle Salomon, our librarian, will continue to care for the library and assume the responsibilities of the half-day assistant for an interim period.

We will celebrate Mrs. Dwyer on Friday, October 14th with Mass, a Rio-inspired carnival, and an assembly in her honor.  Mass will begin at 8:30, the carnival at 10:30, and the assembly at 11:30.  Please plan on attending all or any of our planned events that your schedule permits.
