Dear Kindergarten Parents,

From Teacher Appreciation Day’s flowers to the many Valentine treats, cards, and candles I want to express my thanks to all of you and your children. I am truly blessed! Our party was great and well organized- thanks to the parents who were able to help from home, our room moms, and parents who helped in class. You all worked hard to make our Valentine’s Day party enjoyable as well as crafty!

I hope everyone enjoyed their four-day weekend. Now four days for this week, ending with a full day Friday.

We also have free dress ($1.00 donation) on Wednesday to support our mission efforts.

Lent is our religion focus – we will attend the Stations of the Cross on Wednesday at 2:00. Parents are welcome to join us if your schedule allows.

We will be reading and responding to non-fiction books this week. Focus learning: facts on the Presidents leading us to our Schoolwide Learning Expectations, B.3 “Read to learn and for fun”. And B. 4 “Read, write, listen, and speak well.” You may have heard or will be hearing about our new Starfall journals. These journals are excellent and will help us with grammar, sentence components, and general response from events and/or stories read in class.

Science work will be on our landform project and soils as we work toward the deadline for the school fair on March 6 at 6:30.

Math has us continuing on with time, calendar and common core math standards. Our centers reflect this pattern, as we work on simple addition word problems and measurement.

Outreach program, Mother Nature will be on campus, March 4 at 9-10:00 am.

God Bless your families,

Mrs. Carol Brown
