Dear Families,

The fifth grade class enjoyed a fun Catholic Schools Week!  This Friday is a full day of school.  Progress reports will be going home on Tuesday, February 10th.   We have been working very hard on our School Fair projects.  In class today we went over the requirements for the  display boards.  If you have any questions please let me know.

Below is an overview for our week.

Math:  We are practicing renaming fractions as decimals and reviewing rounding decimals.  IXL sections for the week are L.3 and L.4.

Vocabulary:  We will be taking Unit 6 test this Thursday.

Grammar:  Our focus this week will be irregular verbs.

Social Studies:  We will be having our States test on Tuesday. We will be discussing the influence of immigration to the middle colonies.

Science:  We will be learning how oceans have a major effect on Earth’s weather and climate.

Religion:  We will be learning about the Marks of the Catholic Church.

ELA:  We have finished our books for Unit 3 and are starting to write our essays.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you.

Ms. Carney
