Dear Kindergarten Families,

As we begin a new week and month, on Monday we start our day with an outreach program about ladybugs and other insects. Your children enjoyed reading their animal facts reports in class.  Next will be comparing that animal to another.

February birthdays include Douglas, Giselle, and Jeremiah.

Our faith lessons concentrate on knowing we are worthy of God’s love and how to share in faith with others.  The Virtus lessons will begin later this week, please send in your form if you have not done so.

ELA: building words with short vowel /i/ and /a/; weather action words; writing skills include weather observations; poetry; sentences with ‘here’ and other sight words; punctuation; summarizing as we listen and read stories; and understanding plot.

EM: ordinal numbers and ordering daily events; reviewing patterns; number games; and continuing to review number formation.

Science: animals including insects; our senses – Tuesday’s lab-sense of smell. February is National Dental Month- care for our teeth and healthy eating will continue in science lessons.

Social Studies: President’s Day and some interesting facts about all presidents.

A full day this Friday ….

Next week Valentine’s Day will be an exchange of cards and treats. No class party.
