Dear Kindergarten Families,

Hope all enjoyed President’s Day.

If your schedule permits, please join us for Stations of the Cross 2:00 on Wednesday afternoon.

We have a lot to cover in this shortened week.

Religion – Learning about the Stations of the Cross. Our text lesson is from Chapter 15, Jesus teaches us to be kind and how to use our hands to help others.

Language arts will focus on hearing and recognizing the beginning and ending letters/sounds. An ongoing review of  vowel sounds to read simple words. Readers Workshop continues with reading old favorites. Work on sight words daily with your child. Writing and science focus is for our school fair project on the mammoths.

This week we start a new chapter and using our math text book. Our lesson begins with reviewing patterns and measurement.

Social Studies finds looking at the first 28 presidents. I will relate the presidential order to the student’s numbers and we will learn some interesting facts about each president 1-28.

Tuesday we have a special art lesson with Miss Nancy!

This week we have a full day on Friday.

Reminder: with the colder week ahead – please make sure sweatshirts/jackets/sweaters are labeled with your child’s name.

Enjoy your week!

Mrs. Brown
