Dear Fifth Grade Families,

This is a busy week for the class.  On Wednesday we have Stations of  the Cross at 2pm.  Thursday the Combined Private School Band will be performing.  Friday is a full day and we will be celebrating Read Across America.

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes.   By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).

Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  We begin our chapter on multiplying fractions.

Science: We  will be reviewing and preparing for our Chapter 8 test on Thursday.

Social Studies:  We will have a States Test on Thursday and  our Chapter 6 test on Friday.  We will be preparing  for the test this week

English: We will be identifying possessive  pronouns.  The students will continue working on  the Palmisano writing contest, which are due on March 1, 2013.

Religion: This month we will be also focusing on the parts of the Mass.

Spelling: Unit 21.  We will have our  pre test on Thursday and our test on Friday.

Vocabulary: Unit 10

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
