Dear Kindergarten Families,

I hope everyone had a great weekend – even though it seems more like spring than winter! Coming home today is the homework dice. It is a gift for your children – as students who are always motivated to learn! I appreciate that! This will help recognize dots representing numbers on a domino or dice.

I just received a certificate from IXL your students have been awarded outstanding completion of 50,000 questions! That is amazing! Bravo! Thank you for working along with your children to achieve this goal.

Religion will be reading stories in the New Testament in our children’s Bible. Also the Virtus training will start this week.

ELA – our word sorts start compound words with pictures. It is fun and your children will enjoy this lesson. Reading and Writing workshops continue daily. We are working hard to sound out words in our stories and our writing is really coming along with correct sentence structure- spacing, capitals and using punctuation.

Math – probability is the focus, and working with the calculator, and reviewing patterns using pattern blocks to extend the pattern at least 3 times.

Science – animals in winter, learning about the migration of the mammoth.

Social studies – Black History month is in February, we will review MLK and learn about some famous black Americans. We will also begin to learn facts about the first President’s.

Reminder: Friday is a full day

Next week Friday is Primary Centers! I have a some spots open. Please send an email if you can come help.

enjoy the week!

Blessings to your families,

Mrs. Brown
