Dear Parents,                     June 1, 2015

This week in first grade, we are winding down! This is what we will be wrapping up…

Language Arts: We will be taking our Theme 10 assessments early on in the week. We will follow this with the writing of our Zoo Report. This is an in-class writing report, which will be due on Friday. We will also be continuing with our opinion writing. I hope our collections can be headed home by the end of the week.

Math: We are just about done with Unit 10. We will be taking our test in the middle of the week and spend the rest of the time to play our Everyday Math Games which are always a way for us to practice our learned skills.

Religion: We will be finishing our Religion books this week. Our last chapter teaches us how to give glory to God.

Science: In science we will be headed to the lab for a very fun and hands-on lesson, as we review matter.

Social Studies: We will be wrapping up our Unit 5: My Country, My Heroes. We will be taking our test this week!

Homework for the Week:

  • As we will be reviewing and wrapping up… everything (!), all that is for homework is to keep up the reading!!

Reminders for the Week:

  • If you have received your child’s yearbook, please keep it at home until Monday June 8th. At this date, all students may bring their yearbook to school to have friends and teachers sign.
  • PE Uniforms on Tuesday and Thursday!
  • Please remind your child to bring their library book on Tuesday so that they may check out a new one. This will be the last time we go to the library and all books will be due this coming Friday (June 5th).
  • Friday is Jog-a-thon free dress.
  • Friday is a half day of school!

Have a great week!
