Dear Parents,                          February 20, 2017

Here is the scoop for this week…

Language Arts: We are beginning to work on creating a table of contents for our informative writing books. In phonics this week, we are focusing on the vowel pairs “oo” as in wood and compound words. Compound words are two words that come together to make one big word such as butterfly or popcorn. Our spelling words come from Unit 35 and will focus on compound words.

Math: We are winding down our unit 6! At the end of the week, we will be taking our math test. This week, we will be reviewing time, counting money, reading graphs, and measurement.

Science: We are still on our little break from Science as we continue work on our school fair project.

Social Studies: We are putting the final touches on our school fair project! I would like to ask all to bring in 1 empty roll of toilet paper for one of our final touches! Please bring them in on Tuesday morning! We cannot wait to show you all of the places we have been and what we have learned!

Religion: This week we are working from our textbook – Chapter 17: Jesus Calls Himself the Good Shepherd.
