Dear Parents,                     December 7, 2015

This week in first grade, we are learning…

Language Arts: We will be taking our Theme 4 assessments throughout the early part of the week. Within the later part of the week, we will be taking some time to work on a Christmas language arts activity.

Spelling: This week, we do not have new spelling words. Instead we will spend our spelling time reviewing past clusters.

Math: We did not take our test last week, so therefore we will be taking it this week! We will be reviewing with a number of games throughout the week.

Religion: As we have a shorter time this week, we will be reading various nativity stories and discussing Advent.

Science and Social Studies: We will be limited in how much time we spend in both of these subjects. We will spend time reviewing what we learned last week, and hopefully progressing forward.

Reminders for the Week:

  • PE Uniforms on Tuesday only!
  • Please remind your child to bring their library book on Tuesday so that they may check out a new one.
  • Tuesday is Immaculate Conception, therefore we will be going to the 8:30am mass.
  • Wednesday is Teddy Bear Day!  If you have not brought in your teddy bear, don’t forget to do so!
  • Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are 11:30am dismissals, as parent teacher conferences are this week! I look forward to meeting with all of you!
  • Progress Reports (formerly called Report Cards) will be going home on Tuesday.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Have a fantastic week and I’ll see you soon!

Ms. Manning
