Dear Parents,                          November 28, 2016

Here’s what we are doing in first grade this week!

Language Arts: We are kicking off a new writing unit – all about informative writing! We are also working on phonetics! We are focusing on the short /u/ as in umbrella and on triple clusters, as in sprinkles slpash street. Remember that these clusters blend together to make one big sound!

Math: We are still working on Unit 4! We will be discussing measurement this week.

Science: We are back to our science lessons! Woohoo! We will start our third chapter all about living things and their needs!

Social Studies: We are pushing forwards with our next chapter – Living in a Community.

Religion: This week we are discussing Advent and will begin chapter 10: God Chose Mary and Joseph.

Homework for the Week: (Don’t forget to read every night!)

  • Monday: Math Worksheet
  • Tuesday: Math Worksheet
  • Wednesday: Math Worksheet
  • Thursday: Math Worksheet
  • Friday: Read 2 times!

Reminders for the Week:

  • PE Uniforms on Tuesday and Thursday
  • Please remind your student to bring their library book to school on Thursday so that they may check out another one.
  • Friday is a full day!

Have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Basamanowicz
