Dear Parents,                          January 17, 2017

Here’s what we are learning…

Language Arts: We are pushing ourselves to be the best experts we can be within our informative writing! In phonics this week, we are focusing again on CVCe (consonant, vowel, consonant, silent e) words – this time with long /i/. The silent e says “Hey ‘i’! Say your name!” Our spelling words come from Unit 21 and again there are a lot of them!

Math: We are working on unit 5! We are practicing addition and using doubles to solve problems. Double facts are addition facts that use the same two addends. For example 2+2, 5+5, 12+12.

Science: We are going to be taking a little break from Science to get a jump start on our school fair project.

Social Studies: We are still wrapping up our fourth unit -Living in a Community. We will be discussing goods and services as well as transportation!

Religion: This week we are working from our Family Life Series titled- I Grow and Learn.

Homework for the Week: (Don’t forget to read every night!)

  • Tuesday: Rainbow Write and Math Worksheet
  • Wednesday: Spelling p. 155-156 and Math Worksheet
  • Thursday: Spelling p. 158 and Math Worksheet

Reminders for the Week:

Have a wonderful week!
