Congratulations to our five students who made us very proud last Friday by participating in the school Spelling Bee. Erin, John, Siobhan, Regina, and Renee, we thank you for your hard work!  You all did great!!

All parents should have received a letter explaining the next book report.  If you did not get this, please look in your child’s backpack.  Let me know if it has somehow disappeared.

Papers will go home on Tuesday.

This week in math we continue exploring fractions.  During English we are learning about adjectives.  Religion brings us to the discussion of the Fifth Commandment (see posted letter).  Students are loving The Black Stallion. This week we read to discover how Alec trains Black to race.  The themes of friendship and courage are discussed as we read the novel.  Science continues with the study of rocks and minerals.  We will be in the science lab on Tuesday as we compare the properties of different minerals.

All students should be studying their social studies and science vocabulary every evening as homework.  Weekly spelling words should also be studied every day.  Please remember, all of these words are also listed on the Spelling City website.

Have a good week,

Mrs. Sharon Redmond
