In continuing our discussion of the mass, we have talked about how God accepted

all the sacrifices of the early Christians as signs of man’s sorrow for sin, but still

the debt was not paid.  God loved His people so much and wanted them to be

with Him forever in heaven.  This is why he sent His son, to be born as a man and

die as a victim for our sins.  When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, He was

born to die.  This was the only way man would be able to “wipe the slate clean”

and be with God in heaven.  At the Last Supper, the first sign of what would appear

later at the mass was given by Jesus.  Men received Holy Communion for the

first time.
