The big news for this week is the Friday jog-a-thon!  Thank you to those who are supporting this wonderful day!  We are all looking forward to having a great time out on the field.

Also for the week:

Math:  Chapter 9 TEST will be Friday

Spelling:  Homophones (each child has a copy of the 19 words for this week)

English:  Adverbs are discussed…..also, each student will be writing an informative essay. Details on this assignment will be found inside of the students reading folders.  This essay is a culmination of what we have been working on all year, i.e., grammar, paragraphing, sentence fluency, organization, etc.  The students will be allowed to work on this piece at home but please do not give them too much help. Class time will also be allowed for writing the essay.   The finished essay is due on or before Thursday, May 30th.

Reading:  We complete Unit 5, Children of the Earth and Sky, with the discussion of Can You Hear a Shout in Space?

Social Studies:  Week 27 “California Industries”  Students should be studying the list 8 words

Science:  Magnetism is continued, students should be studying the chapter 9 words

All students need to be gathering information, props, costumes, etc. fort their wax museum person.  The presentation will be Wednesday, June 12th, at 6:00 PM.
