Dear Kindergarten Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a healthy start to the New Year! I am excited to be back in class with your children. We have lots of learning to do this important trimester!

A look at our week:

Religion continues with the coming of Christ and his life as a young boy and man. We will also celebrate Epiphany.

ELA- we will be reviewing alphabet, beginning and ending consonants and vowel sounds (long and short). Reading workshop has us working with our super powers – for segmenting and blending simple words, reading with more accuracy and fluency. Using our sight words for instant recognition, sentence writing and spelling.  Writing workshop will continue with writing  ‘How To Books’.

EM- everyday we work on our math skills by counting and number recognition. Graphing information, counting coins will be our review work. This trimester we will focus on addition and subtraction sentences along with number formation.

Science continues with animals and how they manage during the cold short days of winter.

Martin Luther King Jr and his message will be our social studies work.

We have a birthday to celebrate in January, Addison’s happy day is January 22!

Friday is a full day of school.

Thank you for all your support, care, and kindness!

Blessings,

Mrs. Carol Brown
