Dear Kindergarten Families,

Our week is filled with learning about Holy Week starting with Palm Sunday. We will be reading, reflecting, and working on a project centered on Jesus’ last days.

Monday we will attend Mass at 8:30, if your schedule permits please join us. Wednesday at 1:50 the eighth grade students take part in presenting the path Jesus took during Holy Week. It is a dramatic and touching experience. Please join us if you can.

Our academic week will follow our usual pattern.

ELA – phonics practice on beginning sounds, vowels, ending sounds and beginning blends. Please continue to read nightly – look for sight words as you read together.

Poems are practiced each day….our classroom finalists (5 students)  will be chosen on Wednesday. I will notify parents so you can practice with your child over Easter Break. When we return from our break – Tuesday, April 25 is the day to be judged along with our first grade competitors. After all grades are judged, possibly by Friday we will find out who wins for each grade level.

Math – focus on addition and subtraction using objects, number blocks, and number grid.

Social studies continues with mapping skills.

Library is on Tuesday, please return library books – we will only check out one book this time for our classroom.

Thursday is a noon dismissal.

Enjoy your Easter vacation – school resumes on April 24. I hope to see everyone back refreshed, rested, and ready to learn!

Have a blessed Easter Sunday,

Mrs. Carol Brown
