Dear Families,

This Friday is a noon dismissal. We will have no school next Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  If you have not returned the permission slip for our field trip please do so. Next Wednesday is Free Dress for $1.  Although the permission slip states students are to wear their uniform they may come to school in free dress.

Science:  The focus this week will be on how precipitation forms. We will be taking our next science test on Friday, January 22nd.

Math:  I will introduce multiplication and division rules for finding equivalent fractions. The IXL section is K.5, Convert between improper and mixed numbers.

Social Studies: We will summarize the economic functions of a plantation. We will have our chapter 6 test on Thursday, January 21st.

Religion:  Our focus this week is the concluding rites of the Mass.

Vocabulary: Unit 6

Grammar: We will focus on the simple tenses past and present.

ELA:  Our strategy this week is to recognize literacy elements (genre, plot, character, setting, problem/resolution theme).
