Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Monday starts the third trimester-I am proud of the strides your children have made through the second trimester. Report cards coming home next Tuesday.

Tuesday we will attend the Stations of the Cross at 2:00 – please join us if your schedule permits.

Wednesday is a free dress – $1.00 – supporting our mission efforts in Uganda.

An assembly on Wednesday, the Palmisano writing contest winners will be announced!

Friday is a noon dismissal with Primary Centers!

Academics:

We will focus on St. Patrick and St. Joseph for religion. Chapter 17 continues with learning about ‘church’ as God’s house and ‘Church’ as people and the priest coming together in worship.

ELA reading strategies are fantasy/realism and plot. Focus letters are review of /l/ and new letter focus /k/. Sight word work as we expand our sentences with describing words.

EM finds us working with the number grid in section 5 activity 15. Counting up and back from a given number. Number patterns counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

Science work on the water cycle and states of water experiment – concentrating on evaporation in the lab on Tuesday.

Social studies gives us a look at our National Symbols from a children’s booklet and a drawing lesson for the Statue of Liberty.
