Dear Families,

Today is the first day of the third trimester.  We also welcomed a new student to our class today.  We were very excited today!  This is a busy week for fifth grade.

Wednesday is also a Free Dress Day for $1.   Donations will be going to Blessings in a Backpack.

On Thursday we will be having Harvest of the Month with Mrs. Hoffman. Finally, Friday is a noon dismissal day.

Below is an overview for our week:

Voc: Unit 12.  The test will be this Friday.

Spelling: Unit  21.

Math: We continue with chapter 8

Social Studies: We are focusing on Life on the Frontier.

Science: Chapter 8, Atoms and Elements are our focus this week.  We will also be discussing the Periodic Table.

Religion: This week we begin our Family Life Series.  We will be going to Stations of the Cross on Wednesday at 11am.  Please join us if your schedule allows.

English: The students are writing a report on who they think should be on Mount Rushmore.

Literature: This week we will be reading The House of Dies Drear.
