Dear Kindergarten Parents and Families,

I would like to express thanks to the grandparents, parents, and friends who were able to join us last Friday. I am sure everyone enjoyed seeing their kindergartner working in math centers, reading, and writing as we do each day.

It is hard to believe that March is coming to a close. This is the 30th week of school, amazing how time flies when you are having fun!

Mr. Doswell is bringing a ‘music van’ to school on Wednesday. The van will have several instruments for the students to see and hear.

Primary Centers is on Friday. This one came up quick–I hope parents will be able to come  help and enjoy us on April 1.

Religion focus:  God’s family, the Church follows Jesus’ way of love. Scripture for this week based on Isaiah 56:7  ‘We are joyful in God’s house of prayer.’  This week we will begin praying The Lord’s Prayer each morning as we begin our day.

**Parents are welcome to come join us as we attend Stations of the Cross on Wednesday at 2:00.

Language Arts: reading strategy this week is cause,  effect, and making predictions. Our new letter focus is Zz and short vowel ‘i’. Sentence building, sight word spelling practice, and penmanship.

Math: Counting coins, pennies, nickels, and dimes and a final review of measurement. We are almost ready to begin a new chapter, adding one to  numbers 0-5.

We are using  “Building A Healthy Me” workbook for health and National Geographic’s  “Young Explorer” magazine for science.

Book Orders went home today, if you decide to order, please visit Scholastic online or return your order by Friday.

A note on Tumble Books:  If you have a Ventura County library card, the TumbleBooks website is free. Go to http://www.vencolibrary.org/ and scroll to elibrary. Then click on Database Services, when that window opens, scroll to Tumblebook Library, enter your  borrower barcode number and you are able to access this site. Thank you Nickie Greuel!

Enjoy your sunny week, at last spring has sprung!

God Bless your families

Mrs. Carol Brown
