Dear Kindergarten Families,

I hope all moms enjoyed their day with family!

This week our religion lesson follows the special seasons and days from the Liturgical Calendar. This coming Sunday is Pentecost, in class we will celebrate the Holy Spirit, Jesus’ gift to us. Click on Holy Spirit for a prayer we will be praying in class. In addition, May being Mary’s month we will continue to honor her as our Queen and our Mother.

More on academics:

Initial consonants focus /w/ and /y/, short vowel /e/ and /o/ are reviewed throughout Theme 9.  Sight word emphasis will be on play, she, and he in our theme readers. Comprehension skills include: sequence of events and compare and contrast. Continue to read to and with your child each night for approximately 20 minutes.

Math continues with daily work on place value, counting money, and addition. This week we are reviewing shapes (plane and solid) in Chapter 9 and introducing symmetry.

Science — health good eating habits and exercise.  Social studies lessons include a look at our world.

Big week ahead!

Wednesday is a free dress day — $1.00 donation to support our mission efforts.

The Jogathon is Friday! Please note email sent from room mom Trudi.

Friday is a noon dismissal.

If your work schedule permits, come join us for the Jogathon. Time for kinders will be early, normally it is around 9:00-more information coming soon.

**Next Monday we will have an  (on campus) outreach program called  Rain Forest Friends.

God Bless your families,
