Merry Christmas, third grade families! This week our little elves will be working hard on a special Christmas gift for moms and dads. No peeking. Our plan is to send them home on Thursday.

These coming weeks are particularly busy for all, so there will be no homework assigned. Instead, the students are to rest up and be good in preparation for Santa.

In class this week…

Math: First, we will spend time reviewing skills and concepts introduced in Unit 4, as Tuesday is our Unit “Progress Check” (test). After that, we will take time to review and reinforce other skills introduced throughout the course of this trimester.

There will be no assigned IXL skills for homework this week!!!

Spelling: We will spend this week reviewing and applying past patterns. There will be no spelling test.

Vocabulary: Unit 9 will begin upon our return in January.

Reading: This week, library day is Thursday. Please remind your child to bring any books that are checked out so that they may be renewed or check back in before the long break.

There will be no assigned reading this week. Instead, enjoy a good book at your leisure.

English: The class will learn all about the future tense in grammar lesson #19.

Science: Tuesday morning, Mr. Rzasa is back leading another hands-on learning experience in the lab.

Social Studies: The class will focus on Christmas traditions!

Religion: The class will finish Chapter 11 with a quiz on Wednesday. Click here for the Study Guide.

Some highlights from the coming week:

Tuesday: Donuts purchased by preorder will be distributed at recess. Yum!
