Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Please let me know your child’s saint Monday or Tuesday, the latest. I have most of them at this time. Homework this week will be a simple paper on their saint.  If your are having trouble selecting, please let me know. I can help!

Progress Reports are due on Tuesday- please sign and return. If you have any questions and would like to have a mini conference – please let me know.

Free Dress on Wednesday – this time $1.00 to support Adopt-a-Family.

Friday we will celebrate the feast of St. Margaret Mary. Please join us for Mass at 8:30 if your schedule permits. Look for us on the right side (Mary’s) first 7 rows.

Primary Centers this Friday and a noon dismissal- I am looking for a couple more adults to help out and earn 2 service hours. Please email if you can assist, time 10:00-11:45.

Religion- this week starts our look at Saints. An introduction to saints in our religion text, video clips, a craft of their saint, and some coloring pages.

ELA- phonemic awareness- sound of /r/, review /s/ and /m/; working with beginning sounds and words in oral sentences. Reading comprehension finds us looking a sequence of events, strategies inferences- making predictions. Sight word work and writing skills.

EM-games to focus on teen numbers, writing numbers to 20, counting by 1’s and 10’s to 100, and using the 110 chart to count from numbers other than one. We will also be looking at the chart to count by 5’s and even/odd numbers.

Science- continues with animals.  Mammals, fish and this week reptiles! Our main focus is body parts, how many legs, and coverings.

Social studies – looking and drawing maps continues, using directions to find areas on the map. Our treat this week will be when 8th graders come in for Dictionary Day – a presentation on a couple of terms we are learning.

This will take us through the week.
