Kindergarten Families,

It is hard to believe that we are beginning our ninth week of school. Please keep in mind the Saint’s Parade will be here soon. Send in the name of your child’s Saint this week. We have to make banners for your children.

Our field trip went quite well. The bus was a big hit with the class. The Green Thumb tour was wonderful and informative. Fits right in with our little garden area and our science lesson. Albertson’s hosts Healthy Eaters which is a component of the “Field Trip Factory.” They do an excellent job providing information for a complete diet of healthy foods with samples!

Events for the week:

Progress reports coming home on Tuesday.
Wednesday, the school is going to church for a ‘Living Rosary’ at 2:00.
Friday we are having Primary Centers and a noon dismissal.

Saints are the topic for religion. I am trying to spotlight some of the Saints children can relate to. Encouraging ‘saintly’ behavior in our daily lives.

Lots of printing practice, phonics for our beginning readers, and encouraging writing sentences.
“We Give Books’ is a free website that enables anyone with Internet access to put books into the hands of children who do not have them, simply by reading online. Please give it a try and share the power and the pleasure of reading that will help others at the same time. Choose the literacy campaign that you want to support.
Room to Read supports libraries around the world.
NEA foundation’s Books Across America helps to stock libraries in need in our country.
You can support community-based campaigns hosted by local school districts and nonprofits.
Click on wegivebooks.org choose the campaign you wish to support.

Understanding patterns will continue in math. Look for patterns at home and make up ways to use patterns with your child.

We will continue to watch our garden–our carrots came up on Friday!

God Bless your families.

Carol Brown
