Dear Kindergarten Parents,

I hope everyone had a nice long relaxing weekend!

Our religion focus for this week continues with family – which works perfectly with Grandparent’s Day coming up on Friday. Please know how important it is for Kindergarten students to have their grandparent(s) or a special someone come share time with us on Friday. Hopefully everyone can make that happen!  Please let your child know who is coming for them.

We will be attending Mass at 8:30, it is wonderful if grandparents can come early and join us. Please meet us at the church. We will save plenty of room-we sit on the right side -look for us starting with the third row of pews.  Adults will have a reception in the Hall after Mass; students enjoy recess and  back in class getting ready for their guests. Classroom visits will be approximately 10:20.

Language Arts– alphabet recognition and word work: letters Kk-Mm; expanding our vocab – using size words; writing: learning to make a  list and independent writing in a narrative style; poems;  rhyming;  and listening to stories – comprehension skill “noting details”.

Math- patterns with motion, color, size and shape. Continued work with number sense – getting to know numbers 0-10. Comparing coins by size, color, and markings (heads/tails) and other characteristics.

Science – a lab observing and recording our seedlings; and a look at seed movement and germination.

Social Studies – reviewing Labor Day and vocations. A look at rules in school and in the community.

Reminders:

  • please return gold folders each day
  • library books returned in order to check out a new one on Thursday
  • please send in water bottles with a secure top  🙂

Thank you for your children!

Blessings,

Carol Brown
