Dear Fifth Grade Families,

This is our first full week of the school year.  I am excited for this school year.    We are doing a great job at learning the new routines of fifth grade.   Please have your child wear  their P.E. uniform on Thursday.   Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Below is an overview of our first full week.

Math: Chapter 1.  Our focus this week will be place value concepts with whole numbers.

Science: Introduction to Cells. We will have our first of many trips into the Science Lab this week.

Spelling: Unit 1.  We will have our first spelling test on Friday.

Vocabulary: Unit 1

Social Studies: Chapter 1.  We will be analyzing theories of when the first peoples  arrived in the Americas.

English: This week we are focusing on study skills.
