Dear Families,

We had a wonderful first full week.  We are in full swing.  The students are doing great!  I am very proud at how hard this class is working.  I look forward to seeing everyone at Back to School Night this Wednesday at 6:30.  Friday is a noon dismissal as the teachers have a staff meeting.

Below is an overview of our week:

Spelling: Unit 31

Voc: We will continue our work on Unit 1.  This Friday we will have our first voc. test.

Math: We will begin  the week with working with the different addition properties.  We will also work with exponents.

Science:  We will start working on Chapter 1.  This chapter is all about cells.

Lit: We are reading an informational story about Ancient Egypt. Our first book we will be reading together is The Indian in the Cupboard.

Social Studies:  We will be learning how to outline.  We will outline chapter 1 together.

English: We will be working on Unit 1 which is  all about structure of sentences.

Religion:  We are discussing the Seasons of the Church and the Liturgical Calendar.
