Dear Second Grade Families,
This is the last week of the second trimester of school. Time flies!!!! This is also a very busy week for all.
Wednesday begins our school wide celebration of READ ACROSS AMERICA. There will be a scavenger hunt (books read) and a school family story time. Ask you student about this
School Fair is Wednesday, March 2nd, in Biedermann Hall. The time is 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Come and see the hard work of SHS students.
MARDI GRAS DONUT Presales are going on now. The cost is $1.00/donut and they will be delivered for snack Tuesday, March 8, (aka Fat Tuesday) since Lent begins the next day, Ash Wednesday.
First Reconciliation for your second grader will be on Wednesday, March 23 at 9:30am. Parents (only), hope you can join us in the church for this sacramental celebration. Parents are invited to go to confession on this morning as well. There will be a celebration following the church service. You will be hearing from Liz Hoffman soon as to how you can help with this. Godparents or sponsors for this sacrament and First Holy Communion are not required.
With spring quickly approaching and the beginning of the Spring/Easter sales, please keep in mind the dress requirements for First Holy Communion. If you need another copy of the paper, please let me know.
Please remember healthy (brain food) when preparing snacks and lunches for your student. When we have snacks and an occasional lunch in the classroom, I observe what the students are eating and drinking. Some of it is not so nutritious. Please limit sweets and avoid soft drinks. Thank you.
