Dear Fifth Grade  Families,

Happy New Year!  Wow were the students excited to be back! I was very proud of them today.  They did a great job getting right back into the routine!  Thank you all for the wonderful Christmas gifts.  I loved them all!  I feel so blessed to have your children in my class.

This Friday is the school Spelling Bee at 12:30.  Please join us if your schedule allows.

Below is an overview of our week.

Vocabulary:  We will finish Unit 8 and have our test this Friday.

Spelling:  Chapter 10, compound words is our focus this week.

Math:  We are finishing up Chapter 5 and will take our math test next Tuesday.

Science:  We continue to work on Chapter 3, which is all about the human body systems.

Social Studies:  We will finish our Chapter 3 this week and review for our test next Monday.

Religion:  We will learn about the Epiphany and we will also be discussing the wedding at Cana.

Literature:  We will be reading the story A River Ran Wild.  We will also continue to read The Indian in the Cupboard.
