Dear Second Grade Families,
We have 2 weeks left in our second grade school year! Even though our time in second grade is getting short, there is still much to do. We will work until the end! There’s some fun in there too!!

IN THE CLASSROOM…
RELIGION: loving God and others by making good choices and following rules at home and school.
LANGUAGE ARTS: Reading for fluency and comprehension and following directions; prefixes and suffixes, in phonics and spelling; rhyming; ABC order; punctuation and grammar; creative writing; cursive handwriting. (We’re still working on finishing up the lower case letters, and will begin to learn as many capitals as possible).
MATH: Adding and subtracting facts to 20. (Continue to help your child memorize these facts for instant recall; counting on fingers takes too much time). There will be a few more opportunities to take the timed math test. It will be given Tuesday through Friday of this week. This will allow those students close to #20 and #25 to try to reach these goals. Then we will be finished with these for the year. We will be finishing up our study of 2-digit addition and subtraction with and without regrouping. Keep telling time and counting money.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWEST MATH STAR (as of 5/31) Kaleb Jordan.

PLEASE REMEMBER
Friday, June 3, is a 12:00 dismissal day.
Have a good week. Read the school newsletter for any further school developments.
