Dear Second Grade Families,
Happy November!!!
The Saints Parade will be this Friday. Are you ready??? Please have a dress rehearsal at home. Your student should be able to walk, kneel, sit, stand, and genuflect or bow in the saint costume.  Your child needs to come to school dressed in the saint costume. The SHS Saints will be part of the Entrance Procession for the 8:30 am Mass, sit together with their class during Mass, talk about their saint at the end of Mass, process out of Mass, and then “parade” around for all to enjoy, (a Kodak moment). Hopefully Second Graders will have their school clothes (shorts/skort and shirt) under their outfit to help make changing for school an easier job. Thank you for all your help.( This day is noon dismissal)
.
Thank you for your donations for Halloween tattoos. The students enjoyed this activity.

Thank you for checking on the safe arrival of second grade Flat People. We made Halloween cards and mailed them.  We have begun to receive mail!!! The mail will be read in class, brought home to be shared with you and then returned to school to be displayed and saved. The mail is saved in an envelope until it is time for the next part. Please encourage the host to start correspondence and sent it to school. They have the address.

The November Book- It will go home in the Tuesday folder. Please remember your child must read grade and age appropriate books for this assignment. They are beyond first readers such as “HOP ON POP” etc. This choice of books will not be acceptable and the pizza coupon will not be given. And the students are to write the titles neatly. Effort needs to be taken in this matter. As mentioned at Back to School Night, second graders need to read nightly for 20 minutes. Since a reading log is not required at this time, the Book-It program will help in this effort. Help your child be successful.  This and the November Homework Calendar will be due Tuesday, November 30. (Second grade students need to do their own writing and not use paper torn out of a spiral notebook. November book orders will also be included in the Tuesday Folder.

Doughnut presales ($1.00/doughnut) will begin this week. The last day is Friday. Doughnuts will be distributed on Friday, November 12. Money from this fundraiser will go towards Adopt a Family.
