******STUDENT OF THE WEEK…ALANA******

HERE’S A LOOK AT OUR CLASS WORK WEEK…

RELIGION: Jesus shows us how to love God and others. We are thankful for many things.

LANGUAGE ARTS: reading for fluency and comprehension; Vocabulary development; Multi-meaning words; Continuation of long and short vowel sounds in phonics; words with “k” and “ck” in spelling; Dictionary and Thesaurus work; creative writing; rhyming; Capitals and punctuation; decoding; Thanksgiving language arts activities. Remember to read, read, read at home.

MATH; Place value (tens and ones) and basic regrouping of tens to ones and lots and lots of adding and subtracting practice with a little money and telling time on the side. The 5-minute test on Wednesday is used as a measurement tool to let your student know how the memorization of the facts is coming. With some extra practice at home, your child will eventually start moving up in tests. Not every child achieves at the same rate at the same time in the beginning, but they all eventually make it. The DMP-Daily Math Practice also touches on daily math situations such as measurement, fractions, story problems, fact families, and probability.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES: Mayflower voyage, the Pilgrims and settling in the New World; City and Community; Rocks and Geology.

Have a good week…Mrs. Danforth
